Organisation Structure
We hold business meetings on the third Sunday of every month from 6 - 7:15 PM. All member meetings are encouraged to attend - and all are encouraged to vote in an ACANYIG Rep as their liaison.
We operate on a participatory democratic governance structure - all key decisions are brought to the group, discussed, and voted on.
Our meetings follow a set agenda that has evolved over many years. We also believe in rotating service - so key roles rotate annually.
Key roles include:
Group Facilitator (formerly Chairperson) - Opens and closes the meeting. Puts out chairs and brings meeting script. Chairperson conducts the meeting by reading from the meeting script. Sends out time and date of meeting and other relevant meeting information.
Finance Lead (formerly Treasurer) - Collects and records 7th Tradition donations and pays meeting’s expenses. Provides a 7th tradition Monthly report. Reimburses members who present receipts for events, refreshments, literature, copies, recovery chips, etc. And sends group funds to WSO.
Records Lead - to take notes at meetings and manage our document.
Events Lead - Host ACA events, primarily social to connect and fellowship. Some will be more casual like going to a musuem and others will be more ACA related like an event to explore inner loving parent work.
Tech Lead - Oversee and make adjustments to NY ACA Intergroup website.
WSO Liaison - represent our Intergroup at World Services and to bring WSO information back to us.
